Strong Bala
Bala is the Meriam Mir/Miriam Mer (a language of the Torres Strait Islands) word for brother. It is used colloquially amongst First Nations people in the same way ‘bro’ is in English. This piece celebrates the strong boys & men we know and love, whether they be our balas by blood, or balas by spirit.
